About the Service
Our society continues to face deep divisions over cultural and political issues—divisions that separate families, friends, and entire communities.
The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Interfaith Service exists to do the opposite: to bring people together.
A Tradition of Unity
Since 1989, with support from Hillsborough County Government and the Tampa Urban League,
this annual gathering has united the Tampa Bay community through non-denominational prayers,
music, and messages that embody Dr. King’s vision of justice, peace, and brotherhood.
A Space for All Faiths
Many barriers to unity are rooted in misunderstanding across different faiths.
This service creates space for people of all beliefs to come together—praying, singing, and sharing dialogue
that builds mutual understanding and strengthens our shared commitment to a thriving, inclusive community.
